All about the Nordic covers

The combination of our Duvet cover with the quilt It can be great, sheltering us throughout the night and facilitating a truly repairing break. Or it may be failed, causing us precisely the opposite sensations. What really does it depend on? Well, in large part, the type of cloth we choose. And if we choose an inappropriate fabric, we could spend the night with sweat or even get cold. Sometimes we have the feeling of having to settle or see ourselves in the situation of choosing between something beautiful, which we like aesthetically, or something comfortable and practical. But why can't we have both?

The first of all is to have very clear what are the Differences between a Nordic case and a comforter, since sometimes there is still some confusion about it.

Nordic cases

We could compare a comforter with a pillow. In this way, the Nordic case would be like the pillow case. The Nordic case protects the recover from spots, sweat or our own bacteria.

Of course, it has the great advantage of being able to wash them separately, protecting the comforter or the filling as possible, since washing a Nordic case is much simpler and faster.

On the other hand, many people like to change with some regularity or between stations the colors of their bed, resulting much easier to do it with the Nordic covers than with the comforters or with the blankets (something that, on the other hand, is also quite a lot more economical).

Use a Nordic case correctly

The majority of the Nordic covers are conceived to close and keep the comforter subject, either with ties, with buttons, zippers ... It is very important to try to keep the comforting well placed, something quite simple if we stretch it well.

Duvet cover

Can you use a Nordic case without comforting?

Sure! Of course it is possible! While it is not the most common, since Nordic cases They are designed to house inside a filling or quantity, there is no problem using them separately. And it is that every year we are surprised with some of those days in which, suddenly, it is not enough cold to use a cover with an interior inside, nor is it so hot and to leave only the sheet. During those days there are people who do not complicate their lives and use only the Nordic case to cover themselves. The sensation is quite light and similar to being sleeping with two countertops.

Sizes and measures of Nordic covers

These are the most common sizes and measures for Nordic covers in Spain, according to our beds themselves:

  • For a 90 cm bed: 160 x 220 cm.
  • For a 105 cm bed: 190 x 220 cm.
  • For a 135 cm bed: 220 x 220 cm.
  • For a 150 cm bed: 240 x 220 cm.
  • For a 180 cm bed: 260 x 240 cm.

As a general rule, most people always try to buy Nordic covers a little larger than our bed, in order to have some margin and that are not excessively fair. It is also necessary to take into account the depth of our mattress, since according to the thickness of the mattress we are using, it could be interesting to look for a higher size. Similarly, it will depend on whether we want to give it a more spongy or more flat aspect.

As we always remember in Llar (and defend), only we, individual, we can say what our ideal Nordic case is. And nobody better than us to know our tastes!
